Half Mile Lake homes for sale

Half Mile Lake is a beautiful subdivision just north of Downtown Greenville. Downtown Main street is only about 5 minutes away from this community. The topography of the land really makes Half Mile Lake stand out. Of course, the lake is beautiful too. The lots range from about a quarter of an acre a third of an acre. There are a few half acre lots. Many look almost like half acre lots because the of the lay of the land. There are quite a few slopes so it does not seem like the homes are too close together. Many of the homes were built in the late 80’s and early 90’s so the trees are established, which is another plus to the neighborhood.
The Cherrydale area is close by for shopping. The price range in this subdivision is about $150,000 to about $220,000. Lakefront properties can definitely be a bit higher. Half Mile Lake has a pool, tennis courts, clubhouse, lake access, and a playground. The schools associated with this subdivision are Paris Elementary, Sevier Middle, and Wade Hampton High School.

Greenville SC Homes- Greenville, SC: Remodeling your Bathroom
December 9, 2008 by admin · Leave a Comment
There are many great reasons for taking on a bathroom remodeling job. You might want to bring your charming colonial home into the 20th Century with a soaking tub or pedestal sink. Perhaps the tile in your bathroom harkens back to the 40’s, pink and black, authentic but not in harmony with your more modern taste. There are many older homes in Greenville that conserve the old world charm of years gone by but just need a little improvement to make them more comfortable for the homeowners. A bathroom remodel is not as costly as a kitchen re-do and usually most of the cost will be recuperated at time of sale. More importantly, if all it takes is a bathroom make-over to make you more comfortable in your home, then the cost, though important, becomes secondary.
Here are a few things to consider before undertaking a bathroom project:
* Gutting the bathroom versus a cosmetic make-over. If you are not expanding the size of the bathroom, and the walls are in good condition, then maybe simply a coat of paint on the walls and cabinets is all you need.
* If structural changes are in your plans, hire a contractor who will send someone in to check on the integrity of the walls, plumbing, joists, electric and flooring.
* Consider water and energy saving fixtures: low-flow faucets and toilets that work with less water will keep your home “greener”.
* Look into new counter surfaces such as granite, marble and stone. They are attractive and will last for decades. Typically, you don’t need to buy much of these products to finish a bathroom and your money will be well spent.
* To save money, think about refinishing tubs and sinks. Sometimes, just a patch here and there is all you need to make your bathroom sparkle like new.
* Change your floors. Nothing makes a bathroom look so outdated as a grungy, dull floor. Tile is the perennial favorite but you should also look at laminate flooring as a warm, inexpensive alternative. If budget is a consideration, take a look at the new linoleum products that mimic tile and wood, or those that come in unique patterns to match any décor.
Enjoy your “new” bathroom!
